This is a tribute video to our customers who played at Diablo Venture Games Paintball for the past 1/4 century. It starts off with shots of some of our many volunteer ref\'s and paid managers. Diablo Venture Games was always proud of those ref\'s who represented our paintball games to the public. Our customers most often commented both in person, phone and email on how well our staff performed and serviced their needs, ensuring the safest paintball games in the San Francisco Bay Area.
It\'s not surprising, giving the fact that we always attracted and accepted only those young people with the very best character traits. Most all my staff the past 1/4 century went on to college and are active and productive members our great nation. We count 15 eagle scouts among our ref\'s. Many went on to military carriers, taking what they learned on our paintball fields to the battle fields. Among my very proudest are 2 west Point, 3 Annapolis and 1 Air Force academy graduates, not to mention the many enlisted who worked their way up the enlisted ranks.
Although there are some relevantly new customers represented in the video, most shots take you back the the mid eighties and continue into the early nineties. In my opinion, this was Venture Games golden years as well as paintball its self, before it went total commercial and corporate

Diablo Venture Games Paintball Park opened on April 12th 1986, due to the property owner selling the land; it was forced to close down on January 31st 2009. It was home to the original Ironmen recreational paintball team from 1986 to 1988 before it switched to a tournament team. Home to the Lost Boys, Little Rascals, Wild Geese, Out of Shape, Team Taurus and countless others no one ever herd of but deserve mention in this world of the internet!

Higher Education Summit - The Higher Education Summit is an annual conference that explores issues in post-secondary education and the steps that must be taken to produce the leading-edge workforce of tomorrow. The conference wraps up with the presentation of the Premier's Awards for outstanding college graduates.

The current student loan debt crisis in the U.S. is real. Total student loan debt currently stands at more than $1.16 trillion. And, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, student loans represent the highest amount of delinquent debt compared to all other forms of household debt, including mortgages, auto loans, and credit cards.
Gaining a college education has long been among the most important first steps towards obtaining a happy and prosperous life. The reality, however, is that most college graduates are starting their adult life deep in debt, and feeling stressed and completely unprepared to manage their financial lives. The IV Eurasian Higher Education Leaders Forum (EHELF) took place at Nazarbayev University, Astana, Kazakhstan, June 10-12. Each year, more than 300 attendees, industry leaders, from different parts of the world participate in discussions and panel sessions at EHELF.
The theme of this year’s Forum was “Graduate Employability in the 21st Century: key competencies and modern labor market.” “Nazarbayev University took the initiative and created EHELF, a platform for discussing pressing issues in higher education in Kazakhstan as well as globally. Our Steering Committee researches and chooses the most relevant topics for the Forum each year. The topic of EHELF-2015, employability of graduates, employment and labor market, is relevant for us,” - says Shigeo Katsu, the President of Nazarbayev University. “Nazarbayev University is a unique university established in partnerships with some of the world’s best universities. The First Graduation Ceremony of Nazarbayev University (NU) took place on June 15, 2015. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed the Class of 2015.
Nazarbayev University, created on the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan in 2010, is fast becoming a leading research university in Kazakhstan and the region. The first cohort of graduating students consists of 446 undergraduate and graduate students. Of the 365 bachelor degree holders, 115 have been accepted to Masters and PhD programs in leading universities of the world, some 90 graduates plan to continue their studies at Nazarbayev University; more than 80 received job offers from leading national and international companies, and another 50 are interviewing with prospective employers.

“I got out of high school and started working. I had a family very young. About the time I was 28 I decided I needed to go to school. I went and got my associate’s degree in nursing at that time. I had worked in labor and delivery, and that’s my niche. I like it–I like babies, I like seeing families with their babies. Then I thought, I love floor nursing but there was something else I wanted to do.
We are in Coshocton, Ohio, which is very near to the heart of Amish country. I just needed to step out and do something else for myself. What I thought I would like to do required a bachelor’s degree and so I started looking down that road. I had kind of shopped around on the net looking for every last online class. You’re looking at price, you’re looking at length, you’re looking at what kind of clinical requirements are there–especially for me in nursing. I just started weeding and narrowing it down and I kept coming back to Kaplan University because it seemed to fit what I wanted to do at that time.
I enrolled to start my bachelor’s degree. There were times when I thought I was going to quit–family life is too much, work is too much, school is too much. I thought, no wasn’t an option. But of course that thought of having that extra two year degree bumps that salary up immensely. I was also thinking, ‘I’m going to have four kids I have to put through college, because now I’m encouraging them to go to college so I need to find a way to help them pay for that, too.
Financially going back to school was a huge plus. This January the head of OB at the time decided to leave her position, and it was open. They posted the job and I debated long and hard because I thought, ‘It’s too soon,’ ‘I can’t be there yet,’ and after much coaxing from a few of my coworkers, my husband, and my mother, I went ahead and I applied for the job and they hired me.

“When I decided to come back to school and pursue my bachelor’s degree I did have a fear of how I was going to fit the studies into my schedule. It had been quite a while since I graduated with my associate’s degree. I was already working full time when I started here at Kaplan [University], and I’m also a parent.
