24-hour preschool television channel Sprout is set to premiere its newest original series, The Chica Show (26 × 11’ episodes), on Saturday, November 24 at 11:30 a.m. ET, with encore presentations at 5:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. ET. Promoting social-emotional development in preschoolers through creative play, The Chica Show is a mix of live action and animation that follows the imaginative adventures of Chica and her cast of friends (including Stitches, an animated character voiced by Mario Lopez) as they explore all the whimsical, humorous costumes and accessories in the Costume Coop – a playful shop filled with every costume imaginable. Each episode takes the viewer on a journey into Chica’s imagination where problems are solved, questions are answered and adventure filled lands are explored.

Elmo will appear live on The Sunny Side Up Show, along with hosts Kelly and Chica the Chicken, to take calls from Sprout viewers, read birthday cards, and send out holiday wishes to families all over the country. Tree Fu Tom, the animated preschool series that’s taken Britain by storm, will make its U.S. debut on Sprout®, the 24-hour preschool channel, on April 22 at 11:00 a.m. EST. The show, which is a co-production between FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment and CBeebies, joins Sprout’s lineup of quality children’s entertainment that includes both acquired and original programming including the network’s newest hit, “The Chica Show.”
The premiere of Tree Fu Tom kicks-off a week-long celebration called “Dig Into Earth Day,” which promotes conservation and the importance of caring for the environment. Sprout marks Earth Week by being a part of NBCUniversal’s Green is Universal environmental initiative, and will be turning its on-air and online logos green for the entire week.
