Lord & Taylor’s annual holiday windows have acted as host in the creation of many memorable family moments. Sharing the story of L&T’s hundred-year-old building and New York City’s unique holiday experience, the windows are inspired by vintage New York, capturing its rich history and tradition.
Fifth Harmony performed two traditional holiday songs as well as two songs from their recently released EP, Better Together, currently ranked in Billboard's Top 10. Winterreifen sind ein absolutes Muss! Von O bis O – von Oktober bis Ostern gehören die weicheren Winter-Pneus aufs Auto. Bei niedrigen Temperaturen ist die Winter-Gummimischung griffiger. Nicht nur im Schnee, sondern auch auf trockener oder nasser Straße. Und letztere gibt’s nicht nur in den Bergen, sondern auch im flachen Land – und in der Stadt. Gummimischung und Profil sorgen für mehr Grip und kürzeren Bremsweg. Natürlich kostet ein Satz Winterreifen Geld. Aber ein Unfall durch falsche Bereifung ist immer teurer und kostet Zeit und Nerven. Darum sollte nicht an am falschen Ende gespart werden: Billige Asien-Importe tragen zwar oft das Symbol der Schneeflocke oder nennen sich sogar M+S, aber in allen Reifen-Tests sind diese Reifen durchgefallen. Verkehrssicherheitsexperten raten daher, sich im Fachhandel beraten zu lassen und Informationen aus den Reifen-Tests der einschlägigen Motor-Zeitschriften zu ziehen. Und noch ein Tipp: Lassen Sie die Winterreifen gleich auf eigene Felgen ziehen. Dann geht das Umrüsten zu Ostern um so schneller. Für die Räder, die nicht im Einsatz sind, gibt es im Zubehörhandel spezielle Ständer oder Wandhaken. Den Gummi aber nicht mit nacktem Beton in Berührung kommen lassen. Chemische Reaktionen zersetzen den Gummi. Haben Sie keinen Platz für den zweiten Räder-Satz, dann bieten Werkstätten und Reifenhandel gegen geringe Gebühr fachmännische Einlagerungsmöglichkeiten.

Verbraucher haben dennoch eine große Auswahl: Insgesamt haben ADAC und Stiftung Warentest 32 Modelle untersucht - elf Reifen erhalten ein „gut“ und sind damit besonders empfehlenswert. Gleich sieben gute Reifenmodelle gibt es in der kleinen Dimension mit der Größe 185/60 R15T (z.B. für Audi A 1, Citroën C3, Fiat Punto Renault Clio, VW Polo). Testsieger mit Bestnoten auf nasser Fahrbahn sowie auf Schnee und auf Eis ist der Continental ContiWinterContact TS850. Der neu entwickelte Dunlop Winter Response-2 überzeugt die Tester besonders auf nasser Fahrbahn, auf Schnee und beim Kraftstoffverbrauch. Ebenfalls sparsam ist der Semperit Speed-Grip 2. Der Michelin Alpin A4 glänzt beim Verschleiß und der Nokian WR D3 überzeugt auf trockener Fahrbahn. Bei den größeren Reifen (225/45 R17H z.B. für Audi A 3, Mercedes C-Klasse, Opel Astra, Skoda Oktavia) schneiden vier Produkte mit „gut“ ab. Drei Modelle setzen nach Ansicht der Tester besondere Akzente: Der Continental ContiWinterContact TS850 mit der Topbewertung auf Schnee, der Bridgestone Blizzak LM-32S mit der Bestnote auf Nässe und der Michelin Alpin A4 mit dem geringsten Verschleiß. Der ADAC Winterreifentest hat insgesamt 18 Prüfkategorien und bietet somit dem Verbraucher umfassende Informationen. Es wird unter anderem ein Praxistest auf einer verschneiten Passstraße, umfangreiche Brems- und Ausweichversuche auf Nässe, Schnee und Eis sowie Tests zu Verschleiß und Kraftstoffverbrauch durchgeführt. Im Gegensatz dazu bietet das EU-Reifenlabel nur Informationen zu Rollwiderstand, Nassbremsen und Außenfahrgeräusch - wie wintertauglich ein Pneu ist, zeigt es nicht.
