Youth homelessness charity Centrepoint and promoters SO-UK have brought together some of the biggest names in UK Soul, Blues and R ‘n’ B for one night only at Indigo O2 on 17th April to help give homeless young people a future.
‘SO-UK: Centrepoint Sessions’ is a sublime evening of UK Soul starring much loved artists from the UK soul movement: Carl McIntosh and the Loose Ends Experience, Omar, Junior, Imaani, Terri Walker, Don-e, Natasha Watts, Maya Blu, Femi Fem, Ronnie Herel, Fitzroy Facey (Soul Survivors), Sammy Confunktion – all keeping the vibe alive till the early hours. On Thursday night, Feb. 26, at midnight, the Las Vegas Strip welcomed its newest outdoor entertainment spectacle: the Swarovski Midnight Celebration at Grand Bazaar Shops. Created for Swarovski’s custom pavilion and six-story-tall Starburst, the Swarovski Midnight Celebration was designed to be the centerpiece of the new Grand Bazaar Shops, providing a unique retail and entertainment experience.
The Swarovski Midnight Celebration is a dazzling three-minute-long light-and-sound show designed to mark the dawn of a new day. The spectacle was envisioned as a way to bring New Year’s Eve-style excitement to the Strip every night of the year. The production incorporates the Swarovski Starburst—a one-of-a-kind, 14-foot-diameter structure composed of 911 custom-cut Swarovski crystal spheres—as well as a large video screen embedded into the multi-faceted façade of the Swarovski pavilion. Evocative scenes from exotic bazaars, together with the Starburst’s more than 1,800 points of LED light, are choreographed to a dramatic original score featuring enchanting beats of world music.

Icelandair helped alleviate the long days of darkness last night with the launch of their Aurora Borealis-themed plane, the Hekla Aurora. The launch, part of Icelandair’s #MyStopover campaign, culminated in Reykjavik as the plane flew over an illuminated Hallgrimskirkja church - a prelude to the city’s annual Winter Lights Festival which begins tomorrow.
The Hekla Aurora is part of Icelandair’s transatlantic fleet, providing passengers an experience of the Aurora Borealis while on board, both with its interior mood lighting, and the new Aurora Borealis livery on the exterior. As the Boeing 757 flew over Reykjavik city yesterday, passengers experienced the dancing lights of the on-board Aurora Borealis, with Icelandic music as the soundtrack, and, adding to the experience, a unique birds-eye view of Hallgrimskirkja church. The plane landed at Reykjavik’s domestic airport to a fanfare welcome as the locals came out in force to celebrate. They were also able to experience the plane for themselves as it was opened to the public.
