A BLACK+DECKER survey finds that more than half of homeowners (52 percent) in the United States currently have unfinished home improvement projects, while the vast majority of them (78.7 percent) have two or more incomplete projects. The survey finds that time is the biggest factor in leaving a project incomplete.

Silence speaks volumes. A new survey reveals that young men and women continue to grapple with various forms of dating abuse including emotional, sexual, physical and digital abuse. Seventy three percent reported they are experiencing or have experienced emotional abuse while more than half of all respondents waited six months before seeking help. In partnership with loveisrespect, the 2014 Mary Kay Truth About Abuse Survey aimed to understand how long teens and young adults wait before they reach out for help and gauge what type of abuse is most prevalent among those who seek help.

Ulmart’s stunning growth continues unabated as sales for the first six months of 2014 were up 31% in a year-on-year comparison. Sequential quarterly growth increased by 47%.
Ulmart’s half year results put the company at just below GMV of $610 million (VAT included). The company is forecasting GMV of $1.6 billion for the whole year which would put year-end sales at 33% higher than 2013.
Ulmart’s hybrid model which allows customer access to company’s fulfillments centers (currently there are 29 in the European part of Russia) continues to be a disruptive element in e-retail. A majority of U.S. (74 percent) and Canadian (67 percent) finance and accounting executives surveyed recently said they expect their companies’ compliance burden to rise in the coming years, and 48 percent and 41 percent of U.S. and Canadian executives, respectively, also anticipate the cost of compliance will increase. These are just two of the findings from the fifth edition of Benchmarking the Accounting & Finance Function: 2014, an annual study from Robert Half and Financial Executives Research Foundation (FERF), the research affiliate of Financial Executives International (FEI).
