Haggar Clothing Co., the Official Jacket Provider of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, will create a new Hall of Fame this year to recognize and celebrate America’s greatest dads.
Starting today, football legend and Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith, whose own father demonstrated the importance of family by putting aside his football dreams and turning down a scholarship to care for his family, will lead the national call for nominations to the inaugural class of the Haggar Hall of Fame Dads.
“While being in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and wearing the Gold Jacket is one of my proudest achievements, being a dad to my five kids exceeds that by a mile,” said Smith. “My dad sacrificed so much to give me this life, and he’s the reason I have the Gold Jacket – and it’s why I’m honored to join Haggar in recognizing the great dads and father figures across the nation with a Hall of Fame of their own.”

Ana Schmidt has been announced as the winner of the 2018 Columbia Threadneedle Prize, Europe’s leading open competition for figurative and representational art, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Ana Schmidt is a 'realist' painter based in Bilbao, where she works as an urban planning architect and figurative painter. Her work focuses on depictions of urban landscapes and how they appear in our everyday experience. Finding inspiration from her immediate surroundings, Ana is especially interested in painting the territorial changes brought on over the last decades by the process of urban transformation and sprawl.

The new online video series, featuring long-term pancreatic cancer survivors of all ages and diverse backgrounds, has been created to show pancreatic cancer patients and their families that people do survive this disease. The survivors have responded exceptionally well to pancreatic cancer therapy that incorporates clinical trials and treatments that go beyond traditional protocols.
When patients are first diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, they often turn to the internet, only to find devastating and frightening statistics about the disease. “Our goal is to provide hope and inspiration to patients and their families,” says Cindy Gavin, founding executive director of Let’s Win. “We are so grateful for the incredible vision of one special patient and the generosity of The Flora Family Foundation for their support of this incredible initiative.”
