The annual ASEAN Tourism Forum or ATF started off today in Vientiane, Laos. From January 21st to 24th, the travel trade-only exhibition and business meetings platform is bringing over 2,000 delegates from around the world, comprising of heads of National Tourist Organisations, Tourism Ministers, suppliers from across ASEAN, International Buyers, Media and other tourism professionals to discuss about tourism matters of the region.
The press conference has been convened for the official launch of IAGTO’s 2nd Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) that will take place in Pattaya from 29 April to 2 May this year. The AGTC is the largest and most important gathering of Asia’s golf tourism industry. IAGTO will be bringing to Thailand 150 golf tour operators from 35 countries who all sell golf holidays to Asian golf destinations. Over 500 delegates will participate including more than 60 golf resorts, golf clubs, and hotels from Thailand.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced that Ryo Ishikawa, a young Japanese player who is a rising star in world golf, has accepted its invitation to be the Golf Ambassador of Thailand for the 2nd year. Mr. Ishikawa, known as the “Bashful Prince,” will help promote Thailand as a tourist destination with a focus on promoting golf tourism to Japanese visitors.
Tourism Authority of Thailand is hosting 12 contestants of a Vietnamese beauty pageant as part of a new promotional effort to boost visitor arrivals from one of the kingdom’s fastest growing source-markets.
