Florida residents previewed Honey Nut Cheerios' one-of-a-kind living billboard, just outside of Orlando, to celebrate the classic cereal’s key ingredient –real honey. Much more than just a billboard installation, the three-story free-standing structure was home to more than 100,000 honeybees. The honey produced from the working hives was used to spell out “Made with Real Honey” on the exterior of the installation. The local Florida honey was used to produce a limited number of exclusive boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios. Constructed in the farm fields at Diamond P Farm and Ranch, the honey-bees used in the creation of the billboard were supplied in partnership with Brent Dickson and his family, who are local Orlando bee-keepers. True to standards, most of the beekeepers who make the honey for Honey Nut Cheerios run family businesses and depend on their bees to make a living. “Honey is more than just an ingredient – it’s the flavor at the heart of Honey Nut Cheerios. In celebration of General Mills’ commitment to removing artificial flavors and colors from artificial sources from all of its cereals, the company is rolling out a three-week open casting call to find one real rabbit to be featured as the honorary face of Trix. Pet bunnies from across the country could be the #RealTrixRabbit and appear on limited run boxes in the winner’s hometown. From real rabbits to pets in bunny costumes, kids, parents and family members are invited to snap pictures or take videos of their furry friends– and upload them to the www.RealTrixRabbit.com. Applicants can also scope out the competition and follow the journey to find the Real Trix Rabbit by following #RealTrixRabbit on social media from October 19, 2015 to November 8, 2015. While the iconic Trix Rabbit isn’t going anywhere, Trix is removing artificial flavors and colors from artificial sources. For the first time ever, Team Challenge is recruiting for participants to run through the Big Easy while raising critical funds and awareness of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Collectively known as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are painful, medically incurable diseases that attack the digestive system. This year, parents of nearly 16,000 children in the U.S. will hear the words: “Your child has cancer.” One in five of those children won’t survive. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and as a leader in the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® will focus on raising awareness and funds for this very important issue. Despite significant progress made by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which has helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rates from 20 to more than 80 percent since the hospital opened in 1962, cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease for children over the age of 1. Each year about 175,000 children are diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 60 percent of these kids don’t have access to modern treatment.
