Bumpers are the first line of defense against costly damage in everyday low-speed crashes. Bumpers on cars are designed to match up with each other in collisions, but a long-standing gap in federal regulations exempts SUVs from the same rules. New Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests demonstrate the results: SUV bumpers that don’t line up with those on cars can lead to huge repair bills in what should be minor collisions in stop-and-go traffic.
Imagine your world in silence. Imagine the colour and vibrancy of your world sapped and living in silence. Imagine without communication how your world would be colourless, and you would feel boxed in, unable to communicate, share, grow. Your voice expresses who you are in the world, can you imagine losing your voice? Can you imagine your world in silence?

CEO confidence was up slightly in the third quarter, noting a slowing economic growth pace, but no evidence of a double dip recession, according to the Vistage CEO Confidence Index 3rd quarter results. Despite widespread recognition of the recent economic slowdown, CEOs were more confident in their firm’s ability to increase their revenues and profits in the year ahead. Yet, virtually every CEO (92%) expects rising employee health care costs, and 57% of all CEOs expect those cost increases to be more than 10%. Two-thirds of all CEOs said that without the extension of the Bush tax cuts their businesses would be harmed, and nearly half (46%) reported continued unfavorable credit market conditions. In response to a question about the upcoming elections, 62% of CEOs believe the Republicans will control the U.S. House of Representatives in January 2011.

Victory doesn't always come in the form of a winning on-field goal or a walk-off home run. Sometimes, victory is just as simple as a phone number after a long night out on the town. This October, sportlifestyle brand, PUMA®, salutes these special competitive moments with the launch of The PUMA Social Club LA, the place for the social games we play off the field with friends, when the sun goes down. Open from October 13th through October 28th in West Hollywood, The PUMA Social Club LA pays homage to the After Hours Athlete – those who enjoy the smell of victory and the agony of defeat, all with a drink in hand, wearing their favorite pair of PUMA Clydes. Has competition ever felt this good?

The American Pain Foundation (APF), in partnership with professional baseball player LaTroy Hawkins, acknowledges those suffering from Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN) today, as it recognizes the second annual PHN Awareness Day. PHN Awareness Day was created to raise awareness to the pain caused by shingles and PHN, also known as after-shingles pain. Shingles is caused by the reactivation of the same virus that causes chickenpox and can affect an individual who has had chickenpox at anytime without warning. More than 90 percent of adults in the United States have had chickenpox, placing them at risk for shingles. One in every five of the 1 million Americans who have had shingles each year may go on to develop PHN, a potentially devastating condition that disproportionately affects those over the age of 50 or with weakened immune systems.
