On September 10, 2016, the nation’s leading reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations will host free music and cultural events that shine a light on the majority of Americans who support abortion rights and show how access to abortion benefits women, their families and ultimately, the country.
All Access, a series of high-energy concerts, is bringing top musical and comedic talent to Cleveland with four other events taking place simultaneously in Atlanta, Chicago, Miami, and Philadelphia. From dance parties to slam poetry contests, thousands more will participate in more than 30 smaller events across the country to show that abortion rights supporters are visible, active, and willing to speak up.

As another school year ends, American parents once again face the challenge of making sure their kids get enough daily physical activity to keep them occupied throughout the summer. Based on the results of a recent national survey of parents with children ages 3-17, that may be easier said than done.
While the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that kids have at least 60 minutes of daily physical activity, the Let’s Play 2016 State of Play Survey, commissioned by Dr Pepper Snapple Group (NYSE: DPS), revealed that only one out of three children participates in daily active play.
There also appears to be a significant drop in daily active play when most children head off to kindergarten. Half of 4-year-olds get active daily playtime, compared to 31 percent of 5-year-olds.

This Sunday, June 19th, as we celebrate fathers across the nation, new research finds that contemporary norms of fatherhood emphasize men’s involvement with their children in addition to the traditional role of financial provider. Further, the number of hours that fathers work is not strongly related to fathers’ involvement with their children. Rather, “new fathers” appear to be cutting back on, or incorporating their children into, their leisure time.
“Over the past two decades, fathers have become more involved in all aspects of their children’s lives,” says Kenneth Braswell, National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse (NRFC) Director. “Fathers continue to feel strongly about providing for their children while taking a more active role in other key activities such as meal preparation, bathing, and bedtime routines.”
Further, the Pew Research Center notes that six-in-ten Americans (58 percent) say it is “extremely important” for a father to provide values and morals to his children and roughly half say it is extremely important for a dad to provide emotional support (52 percent).

Over 50 PR agencies and in-house PR departments came together to witness the first PR Pressure conference, which took place on Wednesday, 25 May 2016, at the Dusit Thani, Dubai. The event, organised by Secret PR, marks the first of an annual series of conferences that address the struggles faced by PR professionals in the Middle East. Leading up to the next conference, Secret PR will be taking proactive steps towards providing pragmatic solutions for the issues raised at the event.
One of the highlights from the conference was a series of open discussions surrounding opinions on the media and the PR industry. Inspired by a popular hashtag, #UAEPR, the event offered an open and professional approach to the shortcomings of both industries in order to encourage better practice amongst journalists and PR professionals. As school dismisses for the summer, students of all ages look forward to the carefree days of summertime, but many kids experience what is called the “summer slide.” Studies show that kids can lose up to two months of learning. Kumon, the world’s largest after-school math and reading program, is offering free registration at participating learning centers from June 1-30 to help students continue learning through the summer months.
While a break from the mental taxation of school is needed, challenging children year round is the key to having a strong start the following school year.
“Students can avoid summer learning loss by keeping their minds active and absorbing new knowledge,” said Dominique Ciccarelli, Ed. M., education specialist for Kumon North America. “Continuous study throughout the summer helps ease students into the new school year with sharper skills and enables them to tackle new challenges.”

Today, Feeding America®, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, and French’s® announce a national effort to help children and families who struggle with hunger. For every specially-marked bottle of French’s Mustard sold between April 18 and November 30, and specially-marked bottles of French’s Ketchup sold between April 18 and December 31, one meal* will be donated to the Feeding America nationwide network of 200 food banks.
More than 48 million people in America struggle with food insecurity, including 15 million children – at a life stage when food is critical to healthy growth and development. Food insecurity is defined as a lack of access, at times, to enough food for an active, healthy life, according to the USDA. It is an issue that affects every single county in our country.
“Food insecurity all too often goes unseen, but every day, millions of people in America are faced with insufficient food for themselves or their families,” said Diana Aviv, CEO of Feeding America. “Through this partnership with French’s, our nationwide network of food banks is better able to help fill this gap. The newest video in the collection features Matt, who was diagnosed nearly seven years ago with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. When he was diagnosed, he was given a slim chance of living up to five years. However, today Matt continues to lead an active life due to recent advancements in targeted gene therapies and innovations in cancer medicines.
The latest print and digital ads feature Jamie, a vibrant woman diagnosed 15 years ago with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). Watching her son grow up was a primary focus for her, and she’s been able to continue to do that and so much more. Thanks to advancements in CML treatments, today she maintains her sense of humor and imparts an infectious joy on those who meet her.
Earlier this year, the first collection of digital and print ads was released featuring Rhys, a five-year-old living with type 1 diabetes and celiac disease.
