This Memorial Day weekend, PBS brings viewers an inspiring night of remembrance dedicated to our men and women in uniform, their families at home and all those who have given their lives for our country. The multi award-winning NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT returns live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol co-hosted by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantegna and Emmy Award-winner Gary Sinise. The broadcast marks the tenth anniversary that the acclaimed actors, who have dedicated themselves to veterans’ causes and supporting our troops in active service, co-host the event. The NATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT will showcase our courageous American heroes who have been disabled for life; shine a spotlight on Gold Star Children who have lost a parent to war; and commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Despite spring’s warmer weather, longer days and greener lawns, a new survey from TruGreen indicates that the majority of Americans may not be living life outside as much as they’d like.
TruGreen believes more life should be lived outside, where we are happier, more active and more connected with ourselves, with loved ones and with nature. To better understand the trends, sentiments and aspirations that Americans associate with being outside, TruGreen conducted a national survey. The results provide insight into not only how we spend our time outside, but also how we think about our outside life. This July 4th, America’s national Independence Day celebration will kick off the festivities for our country’s 238th birthday with an all-star salute led by our country’s favorite host, two-time Emmy Award-winning television personality Tom Bergeron (DANCING WITH THE STARS). Country superstar Darius Rucker helped the resort usher in a new look and name as he played to a crowd of 17,000 as the inaugural headlining act for The Great Lawn, Harrah’s new waterfront entertainment space. Fireworks lit the night sky to kick-off the summer season and celebrate the completion of a months-long renovation to the resort, formerly known as The Grand Biloxi, which includes an upgraded, more open casino floor, new restaurants and enhanced pool experience.
