Sabra Dipping Company, maker of America’s best-selling hummus, has launched the most significant campaign in U.S. hummus history and along with it… a more mindful pre-dinner meal occasion for the American consumer. A national broadcast and digital campaign introduces the ‘Unofficial Meal,’ inviting consumers to foster a pre-dinner ritual that revolves around fresh, real food and human connections.

The campaign titled “Sabra. Welcome to the Unofficial Meal” debuts April 18th with 15 and 30 second spots that depict the Unofficial Meal as family and friends finally unwind, gather and graze after a long day. Fresh dips and vegetables are laid out on the countertop and it is clear that for this moment, it is perfectly fine to help yourself, open up, share a laugh and leave behind formalities. The creative includes filmed footage, animation and a charismatic voice to convey the enjoyment of this occasion. Fully integrated digital, PR, social and experiential activations will help deliver campaign messaging across platforms.

Today, the award-winning Adoption from Foster Care campaign from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, AdoptUSKids and the Ad Council unveiled a new series of public service advertisements (PSAs) that aim to encourage the adoption of older youth from foster care.
Of the 415,000 children in the U.S. foster care system, 108,000 children under the age of 18 are currently waiting for adoptive families, according to the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS). Since the AdoptUSKids project began in 2002, 25,000 children who were once photo listed on adoptuskids.org are now with their adoptive families and nearly 38,000 families have registered to adopt through AdoptUSKids. 41 percent of the approximately 5,360 youth listed on the website are aged between 15 and 18 years old.

XQ Institute is launching XQ: The Super School Project, a challenge to reimagine and design the next American high school. Harnessing the best of American ingenuity in cities and towns across the country, XQ aims to help spark a movement to rethink the American high school—an institution that was designed to meet the needs of the Industrial Revolution and hasn’t changed in more than a century.
“Our nation is radically different than it was 100 years ago. Nearly every aspect of our daily lives—from how we communicate to how we work and play—has changed dramatically,” said Laurene Powell Jobs, Chair of the board of XQ Institute. “But our high schools have stayed frozen in time. Together, we have an opportunity to help fuel a movement for students, to inspire great high schools, and even to rethink school itself. Our passion at XQ is to help educators everywhere foster students who are curious, engaged, and creative—armed with the new literacies, knowledge, and skills needed to thrive,” she added. “To do that, we must use our collective imagination.”
From the Model T to the Tesla and the switchboard to the smart phone—everything has changed except for how we prepare our kids for the future. XQ: The Super School Project is a rallying call to America to change the outdated model that has failed to prepare our students for the demands of the global economy, and an open call to every community to rethink high school for today and tomorrow. XQ Institute will provide a fund of $50 million to support at least five selected schools over the next five years. It will also partner with them to provide expert support and guidance to turn their ideas into real Super Schools that can inspire the country.

In celebration of National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, radio host and entertainer Lance Bass and his husband Michael Turchin have joined The Shelter Pet Project in two new videos to share the love and joy that their adopted pets bring to their lives.
Bass, Turchin, and their rescued dogs, Lily, Foster and Dingo, are the stars of a new online video in the “Meet My Shelter Pet” series from The Shelter Pet Project. The Shelter Pet Project is a national public service campaign developed by the Ad Council, The Humane Society of the United States and Maddie’s Fund®. Its videos showcase the unique bonds between shelter pets and their owners, and direct viewers to their local shelter and rescue groups, where they can find amazing dogs and cats available for adoption. The abuses of power in society foster battering by perpetuating conditions, which condone violence against women and children. “This a powerful rock song about domestic violence in our society today," says Sarantos. “It seems like this topic was in the news a lot in the last year between the NFL, Bill Cosby and so many other stories that made headlines. My heart goes out to the victims. I wrote this song to not only start a conversation on the matter but to hopefully help others find a solution. This is a hard rock song about a man who has made many mistakes in his life. He constantly takes emotional abuse from his partner. Somewhere along the way, he has lost his faith. Thru the words, the bruises and the blame though he stays right there... Why does he stay right there? I hope this song helps drive home the message throughout the world that domestic abuse is simply not ok.”
