The NCAA, in conjunction with ESPN and Creative Street Entertainment, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Title IX and recognize individuals who helped shape the ground-breaking equity law with the documentary premiere “Sporting Chance” presented by Northwestern Mutual. Grapevine, Texas has some new characters in town. The interesting thing is, you have to look upwards 75 feet toward Grapevine’s Glockenspiel Clock Tower to see them.
Grapevine recently dedicated its 127-foot-high Clock Tower featuring two larger-than-life, 9-foot tall Glockenspiel characters, known as the Would-Be Train Robbers, Nat Barrett and Willy Majors. Located 75 feet in the air within the Clock Tower, these figures emerge each day shortly before the stroke of noon and 6 p.m. to attempt the perfect heist. Just as Glockenspiels in Europe are rooted in history, Grapevine’s Clock Tower figures reflect the Western lore that many visitors from outside Texas find interesting and entertaining. The debut was featured as part of the dedication of the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Headquarters and Museum Complex during the City’s 28th Annual Main Street Days festival.

Fans of racing, “The Dark Knight” and Mountain Dew® (DEW) start your engines! Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ The Dark Knight Rises, before it hits theaters on July 20. Teasing the final film of “The Dark Knight” trilogy, Earnhardt calls on fans to give his No. 88 Diet Mountain Dew Chevrolet a “Dark Knight”-inspired makeover before it hits the track in Michigan on June 15.
The new promotion marks the official kick-off to Mountain Dew’s interactive The Dark Knight Rises campaign by putting the power in the hands of the fans to determine which of four “Dark Knight”-inspired paint schematics will appear on Earnhardt’s No. 88 Chevrolet. Each paint scheme captures a different element featured in the third and final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and time will tell if Batman or Gotham City’s newest terrorist, Bane will win out, or if fans will select The Dark Knight Rises logo as part of Earnhardt’s paint scheme. Earnhardt himself will also get his ownsignature “Dark Knight” look thanks to a custom fire suit that will also make its race debut in Michigan on June 15.

With the critical success and recognition of I Am Shelby Lynne, she was awarded the Best New Artist GRAMMY® in 2000 – after nearly 13 years in the business.
