http://fitnessweightlosscenter.com - How to Warm Up and Cool Down | Pre Workout Exercises - In order to get the most out of your workouts and reduce the risk of injury it is essential to warm up before your workouts and cool down post workout. I see people at the gym get this one workout fundamental wrong all the time. Instead of doing some light cardio to get their blood flowing and their muscles warmed up they immediately begin stretching. You do not want to stretch cold muscles. A good analogy is a frozen candy bar - if you try to stretch it the bar just snaps, but take the same candy bar at or above room temperature and it becomes very pliable. The same holds true for your muscles. The optimal time to stretch is after your workout when your muscles are nice and warmed up not before our workout. If you aren't at the gym or all the cardio machines are being used all you need to do is jumping jacks and/or a little running in place to get your muscles warmed up and ready for your workout. Also resist the temptation to turn your warm up into a mini high intensity cardio session. You want a slow steady pace to your warm up and cool down routine. http://fitnessweightlosscenter.com - Dumbbell Presses | Chest Workouts - Another fantastic workout for your pecs dumbbell presses are similar to the classic bench press but offer some unique advantages. Because you're holding the weights in separate hands you reduce the opportunity of one sided muscle dominance when doing bench presses. Also you have to use all the stabilizing muscles you never use when you perform the classic bench press, especially if you perform the bench press on a bench press machine and not free weights. These advantages increases your functional strength. Using free weights vs weight machines always carry more risks so it's important to have a spotter. Always begin with a lighter weight and work you way up. This will reduce the risk of injury because you will know your limits and not select a higher weight from the get go. Increasing numbers of investors are turning to VIX® volatility index options and futures to manage risk and capitalize on market volatility. VIX® options and futures are traded exclusively on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE). Since its creation in 1993, the CBOE Volatility Index® (the VIX® index) has been the most widely-followed barometer of market volatility. By using real-time options prices on the S&P 500® Index to get a true snapshot into how the marketplace views expected volatility, the VIX® index is an incredibly valuable tool for traders. Researchers have identified the first gene mutation associated with a chronic and often fatal form of neuroblastoma that typically strikes adolescents and young adults. The finding provides the first clue about the genetic basis of the long-recognized but poorly understood link between treatment outcome and age at diagnosis. The study involved 104 infants, children and young adults with advanced neuroblastoma, a cancer of the sympathetic nervous system. Investigators discovered the ATRX gene was mutated only in patients age 5 and older. The alterations occurred most often in patients age 12 and older. These older patients were also more likely than their younger counterparts to have a chronic form of neuroblastoma and die years after their disease is diagnosed. They’ve been dubbed the “Sandwich Generation”–middle-aged people caring for aging parents while still taking care of their own children. Pulled in many directions, these family jugglers are at risk for stress, depression and other health problems. Older adults are the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population; 10,000 people turn 65 every day. This will continue for nearly 20 years, and that means more and more people will find themselves aiding their aging parents. Throughout November, which is National Family Caregiver Month, BeSmartBeWell.com sheds light on the challenges of caregiving and the particular issues facing the Sandwich Generation. At BeSmartBeWell.com, siblings Chris and Ann share their story of juggling jobs, family and caring for elderly parents. International treatment guidelines – from the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) – have advised that prevention of exacerbations should be a cornerstone of COPD management, placing equal emphasis on the management of future risk as it does on treatment of COPD symptoms.1 This is also confirmed in the latest data on the impact of season on the frequency of COPD exacerbations, showing an almost two-fold increase in the winter months. This is contributing to the increased morbidity seen during the festive season. To view Multimedia News Release, go to http://multivu.prnewswire.com/mnr/prne/nycomedtakeda/52782/
