Off The Grid tells compelling human stories from across the globe, framing them within a bigger picture. It’s about individuals whose lives have been affected by unforeseen events, but who decide to take their destinies into their own hands. A new episode of Off the Grid – Silent Death on a Syrian Journey – exposes a booming illegal trade in the Middle East: organ trafficking. Producer/Director Mouhssine Ennaimi visits Lebanon where hundreds of thousands of desperately poor Syrians have taken refuge. With little money for food and shelter, Abu Ahmed and Abdallah have sold their kidneys to organ traffickers. One of them was given only a fraction of the sum promised and faces now health complications. The other one is recovering in a filthy room in a dirty slum hoping to be smuggled to Europe by the organ trafficker. Other gyms and fitness centers may be more well-known, but you’d probably never guess which fitness chain has been the fastest-growing in the world for 10 years in a row. Averaging more than 300 new gyms a year for the last decade, Anytime Fitness is the undisputed champ, according to the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association (IHRSA). In fact, Anytime Fitness was recently referred to as the “fastest-growing fitness franchise of all time” in an article posted on Inc.com. “We built the franchise by focusing on convenience, affordability and a friendly, supportive atmosphere,” said Chuck Runyon, the CEO and a co-founder of Anytime Fitness. “That will never change. But we’ve sustained and, in many areas, accelerated our growth by expanding our programming and benefits for members. Specifically, our new group training sessions and our mobile app – which serves as a personal trainer in your pocket – have been wildly popular and will contribute to our future growth.” To view the multimedia release go to: https://www.multivu.com/players/English/7942953-anytime-fitness-is-fastest-growing-gym-for-10-years/

According to recent survey by Medicomp Systems, 43 percent of healthcare IT professionals and physicians cited that their top data-related challenge was not a lack of data but rather the struggle to access the right data at the right time. Those findings aren't surprising since the vast majority of health information systems today share a common design flaw: they don't think and work the way physicians do at the point of care. However, they are still deeply concerning. To deliver the best patient care, physicians need clinically relevant data that is seamlessly presented within their current workflows and integrated into the same workspace. The result is not only better patient care and better outcomes but also higher clinical effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. Parents want to do the best for their children, especially when they’re not feeling well. That often means giving liquid, over-the-counter (OTC) medications when they have a cold, fever or the flu. But even the best intentions can go wrong when it comes to dosing children’s OTC medicines. OTC cough and cold medicines are safe and effective when used as directed – this includes always giving your child the precise, recommended dose. When it’s late at night and your child is sick, it may seem easier to reach for whatever is nearby, like a kitchen spoon, instead of taking the time to find the right dosing cup or syringe that came with the medicine. While 63 percent of parents surveyed say they prefer milliliter dosing devices to measure their children’s liquid medicine, 8 out of 10 parents* have given the wrong dose of liquid medicine to their child by accident. A whopping 80 percent of enterprises are investing today in AI, but one in three business leaders believe their company will need to invest more over the next 36 months to keep pace with competitors. At the same time, enterprises are anticipating significant barriers to adoption and are looking to strategize against those issues by creating a new C-suite position, the Chief AI Officer (CAIO), to streamline and coordinate AI adoption. These results come from a survey of 260 large organizations that operate globally, conducted by leading technology industry market research firm Vanson Bourne on behalf of Teradata (NYSE: TDC), the leading data and analytics company. “There is an important trend emerging evident in this report — enterprises today see AI as a strategic priority that will help them outpace the competition in their respective industries,” says Atif Kureishy, Vice President, Emerging Practices at Think Big Analytics, a Teradata company. “But to leverage the full potential of this technology and gain maximum ROI, these businesses will need to revamp their core strategies so AI has an embedded role from the data center to the boardroom.” To view the multimedia release go to: https://www.multivu.com/players/English/8075951-teradata-state-of-artificial-intelligence-ai-for-enterprises/

Most of us are living in a city. Actually we do not have much time to walk around the city. Even though when we are willing to walk especially on a beautifully sunny day, we often fail to find a good place for a walk. However, the cities are changing now. “Walkable Urbanism” has been emerging as a new global standard for urban development. There was a time when wide roads and fast traffic were regarded as key elements to determine a city’s competitiveness. But today, how much the city provides safe and comfortable walking environment is becoming more important. Urban planners from many cities including Copenhagen, London, Paris and Barcelona prioritize pedestrians, and develop diverse ideas about how to make a walkable city. Seoul is also in line with these global efforts. As the capital of Korea, Seoul has developed and implemented policies to create more pedestrian roads and to make urban regeneration through this. Among others, Won-Soon Park, Mayor of Seoul, is in the lead to transform Seoul into a walkable city. “I want my baby back, baby back, baby back, I want by baby back, baby back, baby back…Chiliii’s baby back ribs….” Yes, the jingle is back, but now it’s bigger than ribs to reflect Chili’s® Grill & Bar new “less is more” menu that focuses on core menu items that first made the brand famous – Bigger Big Mouth Burgers, Bigger Baby Back Ribs and Full-On Fajitas. The iconic jingle, introduced to the world 31 years ago and awarded the number-one song “Most Likely to Get Stuck in Your Head” by Ad Age in 2004, has been turned upside down to let people know that ‘Chili’s Is Back, Baby’ and focused on one thing only – quality burgers, ribs and fajitas. “We admit that as a brand, we lost our way a bit and needed to take a step back to successfully move forward, which for us, included going back to our roots and revisiting our iconic jingle that was once on everyone’s lips,” said Steve Provost, chief marketing and innovation officer of Chili’s. “But we didn’t just want to revive the original jingle, we wanted to break out of the casual dining ‘sea-of-sameness’ rut and let our Guests know that Chili’s Is Back, Baby and better at what we’ve always done best – serving quality burgers, ribs and fajitas, washed down with a cold margarita.” To view the multimedia release go to: https://www.multivu.com/players/English/8187851-chilis-is-back-baby/

Volvo is now launching trucks that can cut CO2 emissions by 20 to 100 per cent. With a firm focus on new, energy-efficient technology for gas-powered vehicles, Volvo Trucks makes it possible to significantly reduce the climate impact of heavy regional and long-haul transport operations. Volvo Trucks is now introducing Euro 6-compliant gas-powered trucks that offer fuel efficiency and performance on a par with that of diesel-driven trucks, but with far lower climate impact. The new trucks, the Volvo FH LNG and Volvo FM LNG, can run on either biogas, which cuts CO2 by up to 100 per cent, or natural gas which reduces CO2 emissions by 20 per cent compared with diesel. This relates to emissions from the vehicle during usage, known as tank-to-wheel. To view the multimedia release go to: https://www.multivu.com/players/uk/8192551-volvo-trucks-new-gas-cut-co2/
