A proposed class settlement totaling $5.2 million has been reached with a defendant in In re Domestic Drywall Antitrust Litigation, MDL No. 2437 and 13-MD-2437, pending in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Today, the Ad Council in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, AdoptUSKids, and KBS launched new public service advertisements (PSAs) for the award-winning Adoption from Foster Care campaign. The new television and radio PSAs encourage the adoption of older youth from foster care.
Of the 428,000 youth under the age of 18 in the U.S. foster care system, 112,000 are currently waiting for adoptive families, according to the most recent Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) data. Since the project’s launch in 2002, more than 26,000 children who were once photo listed on the AdoptUSKids website have been placed with permanent families. However, older youth and teens have lower adoption rates than younger children, and they often wait longer to be adopted. Currently, of the 5,560 youth photo-listed on the website as available for adoption, 43% are between the ages of 15 and 18 years old.

The first all-new 2017 Subaru Impreza rolled off the assembly line at Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA), officially launching the first-ever American-built Impreza from the automaker. The Impreza had historically been produced only in Japan. The lion’s roar will soon return to Audubon Zoo thanks to Joy and Donald “Boysie” Bollinger.
Boysie Bollinger, a philanthropist and Louisiana shipbuilding magnate, and his wife have donated $5 million to Audubon Nature Institute that will fund design and construction of a sprawling habitat for African lions. Audubon officials say the project will spur a larger redesign of the Zoo’s popular African Savanna exhibit that opened in the 1980s.
The $5 million donation – the largest single gift Audubon Zoo has ever received from a private individual or family – was announced on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.
